Feeling Better and My GRAND OPENING SALE!

Hi friends!! I'm so sorry I haven't been such a busy blogger lately. Being out of my classroom has made it tough for me to stay motivated to do just about anything :( After going back to see the surgeon on Friday, I am out for another week. Sigh. I was beginning to feel seriously depressed friends. I know I will be back in business next week when I am able to get back into the swing of things and finally see my littles again. I hate to be such a Negative Nancy over here.

So after feeling like the world was going to collapse on me and pretty much wanting to die, I gathered my besties to cheer me up and I was FINALLY able to get out of the house this weekend! YAY! I cannot tell you how excited I was. My closest girlies and I got all dressed up (which took me about 2 hours and 30 minutes haha) and went to dinner. We went to my very favorite place, T.G.I. Fridays! I always get the exact same thing and it is beyond good - Dragonfire Salmon. It stops. my. world. Our server was slightly less than wonderful, let's just say. We're pretty sure she was on something, because homegirl was high as a kite. We asked for silverware and she brought me salad dressing, no lie. I didn't even have a salad. Good grief! But let me tell you, nothing was going to dampen my mood. She could have brought me steak instead of salmon and I would have kept on smiling (and I'm a vegetarian haha).

So after my yummy dinner, we went to a movie. I KNOW, I went to a MOVIE!! You can only imagine my excitement. Despite having to sit pretty close (because I was not about to attempt going up the stairs and risk falling and humiliating myself) and having to sit on the end with my leg up on the seat next to me, it was perfect! We saw "Side Effects" and it was reeeeeeeeeeeeeallly good! I loved that it was totally unpredictable and had me thinking the entire time. It's a must see! Plus, it had my favorite actress Rooney Mara in it. Love her! I even ate popcorn and Sour Patch Kids at the movie. I didn't care that I was completely stuffed from dinner and felt like I was going to puke if I ate anything else. I was at a movie, and I was going to eat me some popcorn if it killed me! We finally got home at like 1:00 am and I was exhausted! It was the first time I've been out of the house since the surgery, other than going to the doctor, and I passed out. Then yesterday, I sat outside in the backyard with a book! It was so nice to get the fresh air and feel the sun. I have been such a hermit lately.

So YAY! I'm in much higher spirits now :) I'm trying to stay off of the computer and other technology a bit and use this week to focus on relaxing and doing things for me, because come next week, all I'm going to be focusing on is school. So you'll have to excuse me this week if I am a bit absent. Plus, there's only so much you can take listening to my "at home adventures" haha

What I did manage to do though is open a Teachers Notebook shop! Hooray! I've been meaning to do it for quite a while, but finally managed to do it :) In order to celebrate my Grand Opening, everything in my TN shop is 20% off! Click on the picture below to take you straight to my store!

If you are font crazy (like me) this would be a perfect time to snag my complete pack of 49 fonts - that's right, 49!!

I also have some Valentine's Day activities that will be on sale!
And don't forget about President's Day - this is a great time to get my unit for cheap cheap cheap :)

Thanks for sticking around and listening to me :) I appreciate each and every one of you!
Love and Hugs!

  6. Aww, Khrys! I hate to hear that you were down in the dumps. Being cooped up can do that to a girl. It sounds like you and your girlies had a grand time though. Your poor server. That had to have been a good laugh!! If you weren't a vegetarian, I'd tell you to try the chicken/cheese with mashed potatoes meal they serve. It's sooooooooo good! Man, now my mouth is watering. haha

  7. Sad to hear you weren't feeling too perky, but glad you are back in happy spirits. I feel ya on lacking on posts, but you're still doing better than me. I took a few days away from the computer for more family time. That is funny about your server. She was probably on something. When I worked in the service industry I quickly learned that most of the servers had their "fun" but never came into work on anything. I heard that movie was a good one. I will have to check it out, especially since I've been telling the hibs I am in need of more date nights :)Super happy you opened up yourself a Teacher's Notebook Shop. I love my TN shop and absolutely love the fact that it doesn't take 50% of the costs for itself. You pretty much get all your pennies worth which all teachers love. Looking forward to your posts next week when your back in the class and get to hear about all your little smiling faces reaction to you being back.

    1. Sometimes you just need a little time off, ya know? And that us totally ok! It's something I'm working on. We all put way too much pressure on ourselves to be the best! Yea, I remember the ol' serving days. I was the worst ever, so I really have no room to judge! At least I never did it on drugs lol I am super excited about my TN shop! I've already made a few sales, woo hoo!

  10. Congrats on the TN store - I just splurged a bit in it. Love the "Fancy Nancy" unit - can't wait to use it with my homeschooler. We are big fans of the books.
Listen to your body and mind - give them both rest when they need it. Good luck with the recovery.

  17. How wonderful that you were able to get our for a while! Hope you are still doing well. Congratulation on opening up your Teacher's Notebook Shop. I have been selling on TN since the site opened and I absolutely love it. TN is very teacher friendly and they are continually improving their site. Congratulations on being featured. So wonderful! Thanks again for the amazing President's Day Unit I won. It is so great, and I featured it on my blog today: http://myshaenoel.blogspot.com/2013/02/presidents-day-books-activities-and.html. Have a wonderful weekend!

  18. Yayyyyyy!!!! Congratulations on being featured on Teacher's Notebook. That's awesome! I just opened up a shop on TN a couple weeks ago also. I'm finding it a little slower that TpT, but it is nice having both options. How is it going for you? Especially now that you were featured???? I hope it's amazing - you deserve it!! Hope you continue feeling better :)
