Oh my goodness. I am beyond excited about this. I recently received my copy of the AMAZING "The Naughty Leprechaun" story by Stephanie Hicks. Have you ever heard of this?! It is fabulous. Let me tell you a bit about it! This is an adorable tradition to do with your littles each year. The Naughty Leprechaun tells the story of 2 leprechauns named Liam and Leyland. One of the brothers is a naughty fellow, while his twin brother is always making the right choices! Your kids will get to decide which of the twins they would like to visit them for the 3 nights leading up to St. Patrick's Day! If they get a visit from Liam, they will find treats the next day. If they get a visit from Leyland, there will be mischief waiting for them :) They need to make good choices to have a visit from one of the brothers, or else it will be left up to chance! The whole story and the pictures are seriously adorable. With whimsical illustrations and a creative story, this activity totally reminds me of the elf fun we have around Christmas, and it comes at a time when our kids are getting a bit cray-cray and we could use it! I cannot wait to do this with my littles this year! EEK! Take a look at the awesomeness I opened!
So now for the super exciting GIVEAWAY news! Stephanie has been so kind to offer me a copy of "The Naughty Leprechaun" to give to one of my lucky followers! Enter below for your chance to win!

Khrys, the book looks super cute! To be honest, I never do St Paddy's Day because we have a 2 week Spring Break that is always during that time. So as much as I like books don't put my name in for the drawing. I would like someone who can use with their kids win it. I'm your newest follower!

I mess up the room and I tell them the leprechauns did it. They also have to hunt for their gold (chocolate coins).

We usually don't do much for St. Pat's. I would like to do more. This book would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Kelly, I never do much with St. Patty's because it's always on our Spring Break!!! Which is great, with all the pinching that could be going on! Haha! But this book looks super cute and would give me a reason to teach about it!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWe find a trail of little green pebbles throughout the classroom that eventually leads us to the pot of gold (coins!).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

We are in Boston, so my kids ADORE St. Patrick's Day (I assume its because of all the Irish families). We play lots of themed-games and read St. Patty's stories :)

My kids loved our elf at Christmas, and I know they would love the leprechaun too! It would be a great behavior management tool for this time of year!

Our students make leprechaun traps at home, write how tos in the classroom & share their traps with peers. Traps are set up overnight to see if anyone can catch a leprechaun. dbednarsk@yahoo.com

We always read a poem called "To Avoid a Pinch". One line says to don your bright green underwear... of course the kids think that is hilarious! I hope I win, this would fit right in to our Character Ed.
