I'm not sure if you noticed, but I decided to choose 5 winners instead of 3 because I just LOVE and APPRECIATE my followers more than anything in the world! Thank you to everyone who left me a sweet comment on my post!
Check your emails ladies - I hope you enjoy the unit with your littles!

I also wanted to mention this AWESOME new thing I found that has been working wonders with my class. It is called Class DoJo.

I'm not sure if you have heard of it, but it is basically an interactive behavior management system. I heard about it through a professional development course that I am taking and completely fell in love with it. It is perfect to use with the SmartBoard. I thought I would give you a little overview of what it is in case you wanted to use it in your class!

You start by setting up your class and entering each students name, then they get to choose an avatar that they want for themselves.

After setting up your account, it is literally ready to go!

You can use it to take attendance every morning! The students just click on the little green monster icon next to their avatar. This tells that they are there! Any students no at school are marked absent by clicking the red monster at the top that says "absent".

Then you are ready to use it for behavior management! Click on a student to choose whether you are giving them a "positive" award or a "negative" award. Below is what you see when you click positive. You will then choose a reason for the positive award.

That student will get a point added to their score above their avatar!

When students are making a bad choice, you will click on the "negative" awards and choose one that matches their behavior.

The students will lose a point from their score when they receive a negative award!

You can also customize the behaviors to best fit your classroom by adding additional positive or negative awards.

One of the best parts is that it tracks the data for you. You can view your class report and see where your students are struggling with their behavior. It also lets you select individual students to view their specific results. Parents and students can log in from home as well to see how they are doing!

There is also this awesome feature that allows the parents to view their child's report! All you do is print it out and send it home :)

I promise I was not asked to create this post or paid to do it. I am just LOVING using it with my littles and thought I would share it in case you have never heard of it :)

I hope your Monday wasn't too terrible! Mine was loooong and I am exhausted! Here's hoping that tomorrow is quick and painless :)
Love and Hugs Sweet Friends!

  1. I love Class Dojo! However, I have found that it isn't as effective with a small desktop and a tiny set of speakers. A Smartboard would be more ideal. :)

  2. I have setup my class and am hoping to use Class Dojo when my student teacher finishes teaching! I'm hoping it gives them a little motivation to have good behavior for the last bit of the year!

  4. Whoo Hoooo! Yeah that's me!! I won! :). Thanks Khrys.

Our art teacher uses class dojo and I want to play around with it and see if I can fit it in to our current behavior system our building uses. I feel like the chart I have for my curren behavior system takes up so much space and I feel like I have soooo much on my walls. I am trying to be a little more minimal so this would definitely help!! :)

    Have a great week friend.

  6. Love Class Dojo!! The kids really respond to it, and it's such a great way to put a visual on behavior management. Having a Promethean Board does make it easier, though :)

  7. I need to try out this Dojo. I've seen it on a few blogs. It seems neat. Do you use a tablet or a computer for them to get on? We only have one computer in our classroom...and no tablets...
